Warriors out to end regular season with third straight win at Stevenson

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With the top spot in the upcoming Commonwealth Conference Tournament already secured, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will head to Stevenson on Tuesday night, Feb. 17, looking to muddy the playoff seeding below it a little bit more.

The Warriors (17-7 overall, 12-3 Commonwealth) were selected to finish seventh in the conference preseason poll, but the team with 10 freshmen won 11 of their last 12 games to capture the top seed in conference tournament for the third time in the past eight years.

The Mustangs (16-7 overall, 9-5 Commonwealth) are in second place in the conference, but have just a one game advantage on three teams in the league with two games left, leaving the game with Lycoming key for playoff positioning.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors were also the top seed in the Commonwealth Conference Tournament in 2008 and 2010.

• The team's 10 freshmen have accounted for 989 of the team's 1803 points (55 percent).

• Senior Malcolm Covington became the fourth player in school history to post 100 assists in back-to-back seasons with his last of seven against Lebanon Valley.

• Covington needs six more assists to tie Tim Marose (1989-93) for 10th in school history with 217 career assists.

• Senior Patrick Dougher needs six more points to reach 800 in his career.

• Dougher needs one more 3-pointer to move past Eric Anthony (2007-10, 173) for seventh in school history in 3-pointers made.

• Freshman Alex Newbold needs one more steal to become the 13th player in school history to swipe 50 in a season.
