YORK, Pa. – Coming from behind in the last 25 yards, senior
Daniel Woods (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) won his second straight Middle Atlantic Conference title in the 100-yard butterfly to lead the Lycoming College men's and women's swim teams during the third day of the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Graham Aquatic Center.

Woods left his mark in the 100-yard butterfly, notching his second straight MAC title with a time of 50.83, as he left the MAC Championships with the top two times in conference history, setting the conference record of 50.73 as a junior.

He came from behind for his second title, moving from third to second heading into the final turn, when he overcame Alex Bodine in the final 25 yards with a phenomenal final turn and underwater. In the process, he became the first Warrior to repeat as MAC Champion since Steve Hawley won the 50-yard freestyle from 2004-06.

The Warrior women's team moved up a spot in the conference standings to seventh place with 175 points, just nine behind King's in sixth with 184. Messiah leads the tournament with 436 points. The Warrior men stayed in seventh place with 207 points and are chasing both Messiah (241) and Arcadia (254). Misericordia leads the men's championship by three points over Albright, 336-333.

Just two races after his championship swim, Woods came back to earn second-team all-conference honors in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time 1:00.23, finishing behind junior
Trevor Endler (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick), who took fourth with a career-best time of 59.32. Endler's time is the second-fastest in school history, behind only Woods' school-record of 58.84 set in 2014.

Senior
Danielle Loiseau (Hempfield, Pa./Lancaster) earned Second Team All-MAC honors in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 1:00.33, less than two-tenths off her career-best time of 1:00.16 set in 2013. Still, she was able to earn her fifth career individual all-conference honor.

Jilly Flynn (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) picked up second-team all-conference honors in the 100-yard breaststroke, as she finished sixth with a time of 1:11.54, after posting a time of 1:11.15 in the preliminaries.

Freshman
Andrew Canavan (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) also swam in the finals in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing eighth with a time of 56.22.

The Warrior women finished seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay, with the team of Loiseau, senior

Morgan Black () and senior
Brigid Clark (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield) posted a time of 1:44.03. The men finished ninth in the race, with the team of freshmen

Three men scored in the 400-yard individual medley, with junior
Josh Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) winning the consolation final and placing ninth at 4:21.87 – the second-fastest time in program history. Senior
T.J. Guminski (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) finished 12
th in 4:29.60, the fourth-best time in program history and Canavan finished 15
th in 4:37.67. Thomas also finished 11
th in the 100-yard butterfly, posting the third-fastest time in program history at 53.67, and junior
Dan Apostolu (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) also finished 11
th in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:48.35, the fourth-fastest time in program history.

Sophomore
Jess Wimmer (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area) won the consolation final in the 400-yard individual medley, finishing ninth in 4:58.40. Senior
Alexia Follweiler (New Ringgold, Pa./Panther Valley) notched a time of 1:01.94 to finish 11
th in the 100-yard butterfly. Clark also finished 11
th in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 2:01.69.

Wimmer also finished 12
th in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.76 and Black finished 16
th in 1:16.81. Schwoyer also added a time of 1:03.35 to take 12
th in the 100-yard backstroke.

The Warriors get back in the pool with the final day of the MAC Championships on Sunday, Feb. 15, with preliminary races at 10 a.m. and the finals set to begin at 6 p.m.
