YORK, Pa. – Both the Lycoming College men's and women's swimming teams set school records during the opening night of the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, as the teams opened the four-day meet at the Graham Aquatic Center with two relay races on Thursday, Feb. 12.

The men's 200-yard medley relay team of senior
Dan Woods (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North), junior
Trevor Endler (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick), junior
Josh Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) and junior
Dan Apostolu (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) smashed the school record by more than a second, as the record was broken for the third straight year, finishing in 1.36.48 to break the record of 1:37.59 set in 2014.

Endler helped move the Warriors up from seventh to fifth place with a breaststroke split of 26.00, the second-fastest in the relay before Thomas moved the Warriors into fourth place with a 23.89 butterfly split, handing the reins to Apostolu, who turned in a 20.87 split to assure the school record.

The women's 800-yard freestyle relay squad of seniors
Danielle Loiseau (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield),
Brigid Clark (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield) and
Alexia Follweiler (New Ringgold, Pa./Panther Valley) and sophomore
Jess Wimmer (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area), broke the school record set of 8:12.59 in 2014 by more than three seconds, finishing in 8:09.31. In the process, the team finished sixth to earn Second Team All-MAC honors.

The men's 800-yard freestyle relay team of Woods, Apostolu, Thomas and freshman
Charlie Pletz (Robesonia, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) posted a time of 7:22.47, just two-tenths of a second slower than the school-record time of 7:22.27 set in 2005.

BethAnn Schwoyer (Williamsport, Pa./Homeschooled), junior
Jilly Flynn (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), Follweiler and Clark finished in eighth place with a time of 1:54.52.

The Warriors get back in the pool with the second day of the MAC Championships on Friday, Feb. 13, with preliminary races at 10 a.m. and the finals set to begin at 6 p.m.
