Warriors look for third straight conference win against Arcadia

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After downing the MAC Commonwealth's defending champions and preseason favorites in its first two games of the conference season, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will try to slow one of the league's hottest teams in Arcadia University on Wednesday night, Dec. 9.

The Warriors (5-1 overall, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) notched a 78-66 win over preseason favorite Stevenson on Saturday, Dec. 5, to stay one of two undefeated teams in league play. The Warriors shot 75 percent (27-of-36) from the free throw line in the second half to ensure the win.

The Knights (6-2 overall, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off a 73-68 win over Messiah on Saturday.

• The game features the top two offenses in the MAC Commonwealth, with Arcadia averaging 85.9 points per game and Lycoming 82.7.

• The Warriors are trying to improve to 3-0 in the MAC Commonwealth for the third time in the last five years.

• The Warriors lead the MAC Commonwealth in scoring margin (10.8), rebounding (45.2), offensive rebounds (16.5), rebounding margin (7.8), assists (15.2) and steals (11.3).

• With his 10th of 15 points against Stevenson, junior David Johnson reached 900 in his collegiate career. He scored 830 points in two years at Mercer Community College.

• Sophomore Alex Newbold needs four more steals to reach 75 in his career.

• Sophomore Chris Wallace posted his first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds against Stevenson.
• The Warriors have hit 20 free throws three times this season, making a season-high 29-of-42 against Stevenson.
