WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With back-to-back grinding wins in its pocket, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will look to continue the strong start to Commonwealth Conference play when it heads to Arcadia for a 1 p.m. matchup on Saturday, Jan. 10.
The Warriors (8-5 overall, 4-1 Commonwealth) outlasted Albright, 81-78, in an epic overtime battle on Wednesday, Jan. 7. Sophomore
Nykolas King led the Warriors in the game, posting a career-high 21 points to go with 10 rebounds and three steals.
The Knights (6-7 overall, 2-2 Commonwealth) fell to perennial Freedom Conference contender DeSales, 81-75, on Wednesday. Sophomore Ryan Kelley led the way for the team, scoring a career-high 26 points.
Warrior Notes• The Warriors have started the Commonwealth Conference season out 5-1 under coach
Guy Rancourt three times, going on to reach the conference title game each time.
• The Warriors are now 7-7 in overtime games under Rancourt. The team has won its last three overtime games, dating back to an 82-76 win at Arcadia on Feb. 9, 2013.
• The Warriors lead the conference in offensive rebounds (15.3), turnover margin (+6.7) and steals (10.7).
• The win Wednesday was Lycoming's first over the Lions in Lamade Gym since a 77-57 decision on Jan. 24, 2009.
