OWINGS MILLS, Md. – A late rally to pull within two points came up just short for the Lycoming College women's basketball team, as it fell, 57-53, in Commonwealth Conference action to Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 8, at the Owings Mills Gymnasium.

After both teams missed 3-pointers, the Mustangs (12-9 overall, 10-4 Commonwealth) scored four straight points, but the Warriors wouldn't bow out easily, as sophomore Victoria Siebecker (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona) hit a jumper and Antonelli hit a pair of free throws to close back within a pair at 55-53 with 2:36 left.

Caitlin Roy hit a layup for Stevenson with 1:24 left and both teams struggled to find the net for the next minute before sophomore Chelsea Henderson (Yonkers, N.Y./Yonkers) hit a layup on a give by sophomore Olivia Manges (York, Pa./West York) with 26 seconds left to make it 59-57. After a foul, Roy hit two more free throws, but Antonelli responded with a jumper 10 seconds later. Another foul by Lycoming led to two free throws from Stevenson to round out the scoring.

In the first half, the Warriors jumped out to a 10-4 lead, as Derr led the run with four points. However, Stevenson used a 6-0 run to tie the game and took the lead for good on a jumper by Kayleigh Guzek with 9:12 remaining in the first half. The Warriors stayed close for most of the half, closing within three points at 23-20 with 4:53 left on a layup by Manges, but the Mustangs closed the half on a 11-0 run to take a 34-20 lead into the break.
