Malcolm Covington (Bronx, N.Y./Christ the King) took over to lead the Lycoming College men's basketball team as it pulled away from Arcadia University and kept its playoff hopes alive with an 82-63 win.

The Warriors (11-11 overall, 7-9 Commonwealth) sustained a lead that has mushroomed to 12 points after 10 minutes of play in the second half as the Knights (7-16 overall, 2-14 Commonwealth) went on a 13-5 run that cut the lead down to four after a pair of free throws from Joe Brown with 6:31 left.

Covington responded by floating coast-to-coast and hitting a fastbreak layup. After a missed jumper by Arcadia, the Warriors ran the floor and junior
Pat Dougher (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) found senior
Kevin Anthony (Columbus, Ohio/Bridgton Academy) floating high above the rim for a dunk, as the Warriors started a run of 13 straight points. Covington led the run with nine points, scoring on two fastbreak layups, three free throws and one other layup, giving the Warriors a 77-60 lead with 4:04 left. The Knights never got back within 15 points.

After a back-and-forth first half that featured four ties and 13 lead changes, the Warriors started the second half with the game's 14
th and final lead change on a layup by senior
Justin Miller (Springfield, Mass./Bridgton Academy) that sparked an 11-0 run to start the second half, with Dougher hitting a 3-pointer to give Lycoming a 44-34 lead with 16:47 left. From there, Lycoming sustained a three-possession lead until the Knights went on the run to cut it to four points.

The Warriors took an early 6-0 lead in the first game, thanks to two fastbreak layups from Anthony, but the Knights fought back to take an 11-10 lead. Neither team could take more than a five-point advantage the rest of the half. The Knights pulled ahead late in the period thanks to a transition 3-pointer from Brown and a free throw from Torrell Candelaria, which made it 34-30 with 2:36 left, but a traditional 3-point play from sophomore
John Monkam (Lanham, Md./DuVal) made it a one-point game at halftime.

Anthony led the Warriors with 21 points and 10 rebounds, posting his fifth double-double on the season, as he moved into 18
th in school history with 1,210 career points. Covington posted 15 points, eight assists and seven rebounds and senior
Michael Rudy (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) added 12 points, seven rebounds and a block. Dougher posted five points, including his 125
th career 3-pointer, and a career-high six assists and junior
Jourdan Wilson (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) added six points. Sophomore

Brown led the Knights with 24 points and Candelaria added 15 points, four rebounds and two steals.

The Warriors finished with 60 of their 82 points in the paint, including 26 in transition and 20 off turnover, and they also held a 39-33 advantage on the glass.

The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Feb. 18, as they host Albright in a key Commonwealth Conference doubleheader with the fifth spot in the conference playoffs on the line at the 8 p.m. men's game, as Albright heads in one game in front of the Warriors, Widener and Lebanon Valley. The women square off at 6 p.m. in another game with major playoff implications.
