WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior
Dan Woods (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) won both his individual events to lead the Lycoming College men's swimming team against Messiah College, but Messiah was able to sweep both the men's and women's swim meets at Lamade Gym Natatorium on Saturday, Dec. 6. Lycoming fell on the men's side, 115-90, and the women's side, 154-51.

On the men's side, Woods led the way with wins in both the 100-yard butterfly (53.70) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.89), while he also helped the 400-yard freestyle relay to a second-place finish in 3:26.49.

The Warriors (3-3 overall, 3-3 MAC) also won the 400-yard medley relay, as the team of freshman
Andrew Canavan (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell), junior
Trevor Endler (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick), junior
Josh Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) and freshman
Isaac Thomas (Bellefonte, Pa./Home-schooled) notched a time of 3:45.25.

The Warriors, despite winning only two events, closed a big gap late in the event, thanks to a 1-2-3 finish in the 100-yard butterfly and a 1-2 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, closing within 102-86 heading into the final relay race.

The Falcons improved to 5-5 overall and 5-1 in the MAC.

On the women's side, the Warriors (3-3 overall, 3-3 MAC) were led by senior
Danielle Loiseau (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), as she won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.56, as the defending conference champion Falcons (8-2 overall, 6-0 MAC) won 10 of the 11 events.

Loiseau also helped the 400-yard medley relay (4:26.37) to a third-place finish and she finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:03.58).

Senior
BethAnn Schwoyer (Williamsport, Pa./Homeschooled) also took second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.70.

The Warriors will now take off for finals before heading to their training trip in Barbados beginning on Monday, Dec. 15. The team will get back to competition in 2015 when they head to Lebanon Valley on Saturday, Jan. 10 for a 1 p.m. dual meet.
