Warriors look to get back on track as they host Messiah in midweek clash

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After a tough four-point loss to an undefeated Hamilton College team, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will take the court on Wednesday night, Dec. 3, looking to get back on track in a key early season Commonwealth Conference clash with Messiah College.

The Warriors (3-3 overall, 1-0 Commonwealth) fell to Hamilton, 66-62, in the finale of the Hamilton Invitational. Sophomore Nykolas King led the team with 13 points, four rebounds and two steals to help secure a slot on the Hamilton Invitational All-Tournament Team.

The Falcons (4-1 overall, 0-1 Commonwealth) dropped their first game of the season to Lebanon Valley, 83-80, on Saturday, Nov. 29. Senior David Fernandez-Bravo led the team with 21 points, nine assists and nine rebounds.

Warrior Notes
• Head coach Guy Rancourt needs one more win to become the second coach in program history to win 100 games with the Warriors, joining Dutch Burch (1962-94, 318).

• The Warriors are looking to open the conference season 2-0 for the third time in the last four years. The last two times the Warriors did that they reached the conference championship game.

• The Warriors lead the Commonwealth Conference and are tied for fourth in Division III with a +10.3 turnover margin.

• The Warriors also lead the Commonwealth in steals at 10.3 per game, led by freshman Alex Newbold, who is fourth individually at 2.33 per game.

• Freshmen Justin Iton (7) and Chris Wallace (6) each posted season highs in rebounds against Hamilton.

• Seven Warriors are averaging better than 5.0 points per game.
