Warriors open home slate by facing rival Misericordia

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Coming off its first setback of the season, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will  get back on the court with one more contest before Thanksgiving as it hosts its first game of the year against traditional rival Misericordia tonight at Lamade Gym.

The Warriors (3-1 overall) fell to Alvernia, 54-51, on Saturday, Nov. 22, succumbing to a late rally by the Crusaders. Senior Janelle Ziminski led the team with 12 points, senior Ali Derr added 10 and freshman Shelby Mueller posted eight.

The Cougars (1-3 overall) are coming off an 0-2 performance at the Williams College Tournament, as the team fell to Babson, 77-51, and Worcester State, 74-71. Senior Sam Baro was named to the All-Tournament Team after scoring 14 points in both games.

Warrior Notes
• Senior Ali Derr notched the fourth double-double of her career with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Alvernia.

• Derr (.917) and freshman Shelby Mueller (.909) are second and third in the Commonwealth Conference in free throw percentage, respectively.

• Junior Olivia Manges needs two more assists to become the 30th player in school history to post 100 in a career. Sophomore Nicole Calella is six away from the milestone.

• With 122 career steals, senior Janelle Ziminski is three shy of 13th in school history, where Lonna Zook (1986-90) sits with 125.

• Ziminski needs six more points to reach 400 in her career.

• The Warriors have posted a balanced offense this year, with the frontcourt notching 55 percent of the team's 241 points and the backcourt posting 45 percent.
