Warriors open Commonwealth Conference slate at Alvernia

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With three straight wins to open the season, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will look to keep the winning streak alive when it heads to Alvernia University for its Commonwealth Conference season on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m.

The Warriors (3-0 overall) are coming off a 60-49 win over Penn State Hazleton on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Junior Chelsea Henderson led the way, posting a career-high 17 points to go with nine rebounds, as the Warrior bench chipped in  26 points in the game.

The Crusaders (1-1 overall)  are coming off a 78-67 win over Penn State Harrisburg in the consolation game of the McDaniel Tip-Off Tournament. In the opening round, Alvernia fell to Mount St. Vincent, 56-55.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors are looking to open their season 4-0 for the first time since 1995-96, which is the best start in program history.

• Junior Chelsea Henderson reached 200 career points with her 13th of 17 at Penn State Hazleton.

• Sophomore Nicole Calella tied her career high with seven assists against Penn State Hazleton.

• Calella needs nine more assists to become the 30th player in school history to post 100 in a career.

• With 123 career steals, senior Janelle Ziminski is two shy of 13th in school history, where Lonna Zook (1986-90) sits with 125.

• Freshmen Shelby Mueller, Haley Sipple and Ashlee Ruzicka are averaging a combined 36.4 minutes per game in the post, contributing 15.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

• The Warriors are 2-5 in Commonwealth Conference openers since joining the league in 2007.
