WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After just three non-conference games to open the year, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will open its Commonwealth Conference season on Saturday, Nov. 22, when it heads to back-to-back defending conference champion Alvernia for a 3 p.m. clash.
The Warriors (1-2 overall) are coming off a 91-71 setback at Susquehanna, where the team was led by 14 points from freshman
Issak Boden and 12 points and five assists from senior
Malcolm Covington. Six players had at least seven points.
The Crusaders (2-1 overall) are coming off a 63-59 win over Johns Hopkins. Senior Harrison Deyo led the team with 22 points, scoring 16 of those points in the second half. Senior Lamont Clark added 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Warrior Notes• Since joining the Commonwealth Conference in 2007, the Warriors are 4-3 in conference openers.
• The Warriors are 8-5 all-time on Nov. 22, including a 67-66 win over Susquehanna in 2011.
