Warriors out to stay perfect in midweek tussle with Penn State Hazleton

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Coming off the team's first tournament title since 2009, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will look to improve to 3-0 for the first time since 1999 when it heads to Penn State Hazleton on Tuesday, Nov. 18, for a 6 p.m. contest.

The Warriors (2-0 overall) are coming off a 60-56 win over host Dickinson on Sunday, Nov. 16, to win the Days Inn Tip-Off Tournament. Sophomore Nicole Calella posted 13 points and three assists and freshman Shelby Mueller added 12 points and five rebounds.

The Lions (4-0 overall) is coming off a 63-47 win over Cairn on Monday, Nov 17, as the team was led by 19 points and 14 rebounds sophomore Alexis Daly and sophomore Stephanie Guevara added 13 points.

Game Notes
• The Warriors are looking to open their season 3-0 for the first time since 1999-00, when the team finished 17-8 overall.

• Senior Ali Derr was named the Days Inn Tip-Off Tournament MVP while sophomore Nicole Calella and freshman Shelby Mueller were named to the all-tournament team.

• Derr was named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week after averaging 13.5 points and 8.5 rebounds during the tournament.

• Calella posted a career-high 13 points against Dickinson, helping her cross 200 career points with her 10th of 13 points.

• Junior Chelsea Henderson needs 13 more points to reach 200 in her career.

• With 119 career steals, senior Janelle Ziminski is six shy of 13th in school history, where Lonna Zook (1986-90) sits with 125.
• The Warriors are 7-0 all-time against teams from the PSUAC.
