Warriors out for first tournament title since 2009 at Dickinson

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After a convinving win over Mount Aloysius in the opening game of the Days Inn Tip-Off Tournament, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will look for its first tournament title since 2009 on Sunday when it faces host Dickinson College in the championship game at 4 p.m.

The Warriors (1-0 overall) posted a 70-53 win over Mount Aloysius, finalists in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference in 2013-14. Senior Ali Derr led a balanced attack with 13 points and 13 rebounds, as the team held a 49-37 advantage on the glass en route to making nine more field goals.

The Devils (1-0 overall) posted their own convincing win, notching a 76-48 win over CCNY. Dickinson is coming off a 5-19 campaign in 2013-14.

Warrior Notes
• The last time the Warriors won an in-season tournament was the 2009 Hoops for Hounds Tournament, posting a 60-52 win over FDU-Florham in the title game.

• Senior Ali Derr reached 500 career points with her seventh of 13 points against Mount Aloysius.

• Junior Olivia Manges became the 18th player in school history to make 50 3-pointers in a career with her trey against Mount Aloysius.

• Sophomore Rachel Miller notched a career-high five assists against Mount Aloysius.

• Junior Victoria Siebecker tied her career high with 10 points against Mount Aloysius.

• With 118 career steals, senior Janelle Ziminski is seven shy of 13th in school history, where Lonna Zook (1986-90) sits with 125.

• The Warriors are now 11-11 all-time in season openers under head coach Christen Ditzler, winning an opener for the first time since 2010.
