Warriors open season at Schweikert Relays

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Five Lycoming College swimming relay squads notched second-place finishes to lead the team in its season-opening meet at the Schweikert Relays at Susquehanna University on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 18.
 
On the women's side, the 400-yard freestyle relay, the 4x100 individual medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay. On the men's side, the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
 
The 400-yard freestyle relay squad was made up of four seniors, as BethAnn Schwoyer (Williamsport, Pa./Homeschooled), Brigid Clark (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield), Alexia Follweiler (New Ringgold, Pa./Panther Valley) and Danielle Loiseau (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) posted a time of 3:57.58.
 
The individual medley team posted a time of 4:36.85, as the group of Loiseau, Schwoyer, sophomore Jess Wimmer (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area) and Follweiler finished behind only Susquehanna's top relay squad.
 
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of junior Felicia Sloyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen), sophomore Morgan Black (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone), junior Tenninger Kellenbarger (Encitas, Calif./LaCosta Canyon) and sophomore Cydnei Crust (Bellefonte, Pa./Commonwealth Connections Academy) notched a time of 1:52.82.
 
The men's 200-yard medley relay team of freshman Andrew Canavan (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell), junior Trevor Endler (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick), junior Josh Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) and junior Dan Apostolu (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) notched a time of 1:43.68.
 
The 200-yard freestyle team of Apostolu, freshman Codie Malloy (South Montrose, Pa./Montrose Area), freshman Joe Szerencsits (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) and junior Zak Kibler (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) notched a time of 1:35.66.
 
The Warriors get back in the pool on Saturday, Oct. 25, when they head to Albright for a 2 p.m. Middle Atlantic Conference dual meet.
