High-powered offense gear up for Commonwealth Conference clash

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Two of the top three scoring offenses in the Commonwealth Conference will meet up on Saturday, Jan. 11, when the Lycoming College men's basketball team heads to Widener University for a 3 p.m. game.

The Warriors (5-6 overall, 1-4 Commonwealth) are third in the league in scoring at 83.0 points per game. The team is led by senior Kevin Anthony, who is sixth in the league at 16.4 points per game, as the team's solid post effort has helped it lead the league in field goal percentage (.488).

The Pride (8-4 overall, 3-2 Commonwealth) are one of the top scoring offenses in the nation, averaging 93.5 points per game. Widener has scored more than 90 points eight times this year.

Game Notes
• Three of Lycoming's four Commonwealth Conference losses have come by a combined seven points.

• Senior Kevin Anthony became the 22nd player in school history to reach 500 rebounds in a career with his second of five rebounds at Messiah.

• With 1,026 points, Anthony needs 44 to pass Ihsaan Davis (2009-13), who is 27th in school history with 1,070 points.

• Senior Michael Rudy needs 12 more rejections to tie Matt Stackhouse (2000-04) for first in school history with 142 career blocks.

• Junior Malcolm Covington's 10-assist effort against Messiah was the 34th time in school history a player finished with double-figure assists.

• The Warriors entered the week eighth in Division III in blocked shots per game (5.8) and 15th in 3-point field goal percentage (.419).
