Warriors look to step into a tie for fifth as first half of conference play ends

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - It has been a trying first half of Commonwealth Conference play for the Lycoming College men's basketball team, as the squad has lost five games by a combined 23 points. However, as it ends the first half of league play on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Dutch Burch Court at Lamade Gym, a win over Albright will put it in the fifth playoff slot heading into the final nine games of the year.

The Warriors (7-7 overall, 3-5 Commonwealth) have won two of their last three outings, but narrowly fell to league-leading Stevenson, 79-74, on Sunday, Jan. 19.

The Lions (8-7 overall, 4-4 Commonwealth) have dropped back-to-back games to Hood and Lebanon Valley, but won three straight before that against Eastern, league-leading Stevenson and Elizabethtown.

Warrior Notes
• With 1,089 points, senior Kevin Anthony needs 30 to pass Rasheed Campbell (1996-00) for 25th in school history.

• Anthony's stretch of 14 straight double-figure scoring efforts is the longest for the Warriors since Jonathan Pribble did it in 17 straight games to begin the 2004-05 season.

• Anthony needs eight more rebounds to become the 11th player in school history to post 100 or more rebounds in all four years of his career.

• Senior Michael Rudy needs five more rejections to tie Matt Stackhouse (2000-04) for first in school history with 142 career blocks.

• Anthony and Rudy both had double-doubles against Stevenson, with Anthony notching 26 points and 11 boards and Rudy posting 11 of each.

• Junior Patrick Dougher crossed 500 career points with his 14th of 19 points against Stevenson.
