Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Senior Julia Antonelli (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) became the ninth player in the Lycoming College women's basketball program's history to reach 1,000 career points as she posted her fifth double-double of the season, but 22nd-ranked Lebanon Valley used a strong second-half performance to post a 67-46 Commonwealth Conference win at LVC Gymnasium on Wednesday night, Jan. 15.

Antonelli's historic bucket came with her first of the game, a layup with 12:18 left in the first half to bring Lycoming within a point at 9-8. She went on to finish with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Sophomore Olivia Manges (York, Pa./West York) added 15 points, three assists and two steals, as she knocked down a career-high 10 free throws. Sophomore Ali Derr (New Columbia, Pa./Milton Area) added nine points and four rebounds.

The Warriors (6-7 overall, 3-4 Commonwealth) took an early 4-2 lead after a layup by junior Janelle Ziminski (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area) with 17:24 left, but a pair of jumpers by Taylor Umbrell helped the Flying Dutchmen (12-2 overall, 6-1 Commonwealth) take the lead for good less than two minutes later.

The Dutchmen scored 12 straight points after Antonelli's 1,000th point, taking a 21-8 lead before the Warriors responded with a 3-pointer from Manges starting a 13-5 run that ended the half, helping them into the locker room down five at 26-21.

In the second half, the Dutchmen took control with a nine-point run to start the half to begin a 14-2 run that gave them a 40-23 lead nearly eight minutes into the second half. The Warriors closed back within 13 points only once more, as the Dutchmen shot 52 percent from the field (11-of-21) in the half.

Lycoming turned the ball over just 15 times and held a 37-36 advantage on the glass, but were hindered by the Dutchmen defense, which allowed Lycoming to shoot just 24 percent from the field.

Bridget Rothert and Lauren Ruhl both led the Dutchmen with 10 points and Caitlin Bach posted nine points and 11 rebounds. Taylor Umbrell notched eight points and three rebounds and Lexie Lantz posted seven points and four rebounds. Ellen Bair and Peyton Carper each posted three assists.

The Warriors end a four-game road trip on Sunday, Jan. 19, when they host Commonwealth Conference foe Stevenson at Dutch Burch Court at Lamade Gym at 1 p.m. before the men play at 3 p.m.
