ANNVILLE, Pa. – Four Lycoming College men's basketball players finished in double figures, led by career-highs of 18 and 16, respectively, from sophomore
Eric Ishman (Jamaica, N.Y./Christ the King) and junior
Malcolm Covington (Bronx, N.Y./Christ the King), helped lead the team to a 87-73 Commonwealth Conference win at Lebanon Valley on Wednesday night, Jan. 15.

The Warriors (7-6 overall, 3-4 Commonwealth) shot 54 percent (32-of-59) from the field, including a robust 58 percent (18-of-31) and 71 percent (5-of-7) from 3-point range in the second half, to pull away from the Flying Dutchmen (4-9 overall, 2-5 Commonwealth) in the final 20 minutes.

Ishman scored 13 of his 18 points in the first half, as he canned 4-of-5 3-pointers in the game, to help the team take a one-point lead into the break at 35-34. He also posted five rebounds. Covington and senior
Michael Rudy (Danville, Pa./Danville) led the team with 10 points each in the second half, as the Warriors outscored the Dutchmen by 13 in the second period while scoring 52 points.

Kevin Anthony (Columbus, Ohio/Bridgton Academy) each posted 15 points, with Rudy notching eight rebounds and a block and Anthony adding two assists, four rebounds and three steals. Junior
Jourdan Wilson (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) added five points, six rebounds and six assists and sophomore
Rob Pillow (Anchorage, Alaska/Robinson Secondary (Va.)) notched nine points and three 3-pointers.

The first half was marked by five ties and nine lead changes. Lebanon Valley took a six-point lead at 14-8 on a 3-pointer by Kyler Burke with 14:20 left, but Lycoming fought back with an 8-2 run to tie the game at 16 less than 2:30 later. The Dutchmen got the lead back to six points with 6:56 left, but Ishman responded with two 3-pointers during another 10-2 run to take the lead after a second-chance dunk by Rudy with 4:42 left.

The Dutchmen took the lead once more, but a layup by Covington gave Lycoming a lead it never relinquished, taking a 35-34 lead into the break. Early in the second half, the Warriors rolled off eight straight points to take a 47-37 lead with 15:21 left after a fastbreak layup by Anthony and never let the Dutchmen back within two possessions.

Meanwhile, the Warriors lead continued to grow, with a 18-6 run midway through the half giving the team a 73-52 lead, its largest of the game. The Dutchmen closed within 12 with 4:42 left, but a free throw and a fastbreak layup by junior
Pat Dougher (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) helped end the threat.

Kevin Agnew, second in the nation in scoring at 28.0 points per game, was held to 20 points on 7-of-19 from the floor and just two free throws. He also added four assists. Burke posted 12 points and six rebounds and Zach Mrozel added 10 points. Luke Berguson notched nine points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors end a four-game road trip on Sunday, Jan. 19, when they host Commonwealth Conference foe Stevenson at Dutch Burch Court at Lamade Gym at 3 p.m. after the women play at 1 p.m.
