Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Senior Tom Lurie (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air), sophomore Sean Reilly (Corning, N.Y./Corning Painted Post West) and freshman Mike Cooper (Riva, Md./Archbishop Spalding) each posted a goal and an assist for the Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team, but Susquehanna University rallied with a four-goal fourth quarter to take a 10-6 decision at the Sassafras Fields on Sunday, Feb. 24.
 
The Warriors took the lead in the first quarter with a pair of goals in the middle of the first quarter, as junior Matt McCaffer (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) scored on a give from junior Stephen Campaniollo (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) with 8:28 left and Cooper scored with 6:34 left to make it 3-2.
 
The Crusaders tied the game early in the second quarter, but Lycoming answered right back, as senior Lurie scored on a dish from Reilly with 10:18 left. Susquehanna tied the game before the break, though, with J.B. Montanye scoring with 4:03 left to send the game into the break knotted at four.
 
Susquehanna continued its run with the first two goals of the second half before Reilly scored on a man-up goal on an assist from goalkeeper Andrew Hauk (Sackets Harbor, N.Y./Immaculate Heart), cutting the Susquehanna lead to 6-5. However, the Crusaders scored three goals in the first five minutes of the fourth to open up a four-goal lead.
 
Lycoming rallied, cutting the lead to three goals with 5:31 left as junior Jason Breau (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) scored on a  give from Lurie, but Montanye answered, scoring just 40 seconds later to keep the four-goal cushion.
 
The Crusaders and Warriors traded goals to open the game, as Cooper found senior Matt Doherty (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) to open the nets for Lycoming in the three-goal first quarter.
 
The Warriors held a 35-29 advantage in ground balls and won 11 of the 19 faceoffs, but Susquehanna held a 41-24 advantage in shots.
 
Doherty led the Warriors with nine ground balls and a goal, Reilly posted six ground balls and freshman Michael Wagner (Pasadena, Md./St. Mary’s) added five groundballs. Sophomore Trevor Williams (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Catholic) added two of the team’s five caused turnovers.
 
John Kerrigan and Connor Moran led the Crusaders with four points a piece as Kerrigan scored three goals and added an assist and Moran had two goals and two assists. Carmen Raroha added a goal and two assists. Dave Rinaldi led the team with four groundballs and Brian Sowyrda added two of the team’s six caused turnovers.
 
In net, Will Torrence earned the win for the Crusaders, making eight saves. Sophomore Alex Wylly (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) made eight stops in the first half for Lycoming, allowing four goals and Hauk made seven stops in the second half, allowing six scores.
The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Feb. 27, when they host SUNY Geneseo at 3:30 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
