WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With final exam week beginning less than two days after the tip of Saturday, Dec. 7's game, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will look for one final passing grade on the court, as it will head to Hood College for a Commonwealth Conference clash.
The Warriors (4-2 overall, 1-1 Commonwealth) are coming off a heartbreaking one-point loss to Alvernia on Wednesday night, Dec. 4. The team was led by 15 points each from senior
Michael Rudy and sophomore
William Wingate.
The Blazers (2-2 overall, 0-1 Commonwealth) also had a narrow loss on Wednesday, falling to conference-leading Stevenson, 79-76. Junior Chris Cook led the team with 18 points and senior Justin Bowens added 12 points and eight rebounds.
Warrior Notes
• The Warriors entered the week ninth in the nation in scoring offense (90.0), seventh in field goal percentage (.540), third in 3-point field goal percentage (.521), sixth in assists (21.8) and fifth in blocked shots (6.2).
• Senior
Kevin Anthony has scored in double figures in all six games this year. He started the 2012-13 season by scoring at least 10 points in the first eight games.
• Junior
Pat Dougher needs to hit one more 3-pointer to become the 13th player in school history to hit 100 in a career.
• Senior
Justin Miller leads the Commonwealth Conference and is fourth in Division III with a .738 field goal percentage.
• Miller needs six more points to reach 300 in his career. He surpassed 200 career rebounds against Alvernia.
• The Warriors are 3-11 all-time on Dec. 7. The team is 12-19 all-time in Maryland.
