Warriors look for fourth straight in Hoops for Hounds opener against Anna Maria

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Riding a three-game winning streak the Warriors will try to win its first Hoops for Hounds Tounrament Title since 2009, as it begins the tournament by hosting Anna Maria on Sunday, Dec. 29, at Dutch Burch Court at Lamade Gym.

The Warriors (4-3 overall) are coming off a 65-59 win at Misericorida. Lycoming scored 19 points off turnovers and took the lead for good after nine lead changes when senior Julia Antonelli hit a short jumper in the paint  with 11:08 left in the second half.

Anna Maria (5-5 overall) is led by junior Trafficia Warburton, who was named the ECAC New England Player of the Week after averaging 24 points, 11.7 rebounds and four steals in a three-game span prior to Dec. 19.

Richard Stockton (2-5) faces Susquehanna (2-4) in the nightcap at 7 p.m.

Game Notes
• The Warriors are 2-1 all-time on Dec. 29, falling in the last outing, 74-64, to Eastern in 2012.

• The Warriors are looking for their first four-game winning streak since the team won four in a row from Nov. 22-Dec. 3, 2011.

• Senior Julia Antonelli needs 43 more points to move past Kristin Friel (1986-90) for ninth in school history with 968 in her career.

• Antonelli needs 20 more rebounds to become the fifth player in program history to reach 600 in a career.

• Sophomore Olivia Manges, who is third in the Commonwealth Conference with 4.4 assists per game, has posted career highs in helpers in five of the seven games this year.

• Junior Janelle Ziminski needs six more points to reach 250 in her career.

• Freshman Rachel Miller posted a career-high six points in the 65-59 win over Misericordia.
