Warriors open Commonwealth Conference season with tilt against Elizabethtown

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -
Having scored at least 80 points in the first three games, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will look to keep the high-flying offense going on Tuesday, Nov. 26, as it opens the Commonwealth Conference season against Elizabethtown at Dutch Burch Court in Lamade Gym.

The Warriors (2-1 overall, 0-0 Commonwealth) are looking to rebound after a 99-84 loss to Susquehanna on Nov. 19. The team was led by a career-high 25 points from senior Michael Rudy and the second eight-assist game of the season from junior Malcolm Covington.

The Blue Jays (2-2 overall, 0-0 Commonwealth) are coming off an 85-81 win over Gwynedd-Mercy on Nov. 23. Junior Phil Wenger led the team with 28 points.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors are 3-3 all-time in Commonwealth Conference openers since joining the league in 2007-08 and have won the last two.

• Seniors Kevin Anthony, Justin Miller and Michael Rudy have scored in double figures in each of the first three games. The trio has combined to average 53 of the team's 94 points per game through the first three contests.

• Anthony needs seven more blocked shots to become the third player in school history to reject 100 in a career. He also needs three more steals to become the 13th player to reach 100.

• Senior Justin Miller needs two more blocked shots to become the 13th player in school history to swat 50 in a career.

• Junior Malcolm Covington leads the Commonwealth Conference with an average of 7.0 assists per game.
