Box Score

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Despite outscoring 18th-ranked Lebanon Valley by seven points in the second half, the Lycoming College women’s basketball team couldn’t overcome a first-half deficit, falling 68-44, in Commonwealth Conference action at Lamade Gym on Wednesday night, Jan. 9.

The Warriors (2-11 overall, 2-5 Commonwealth) were led by eight points and six rebounds from sophomore Ali Derr (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) and two points, two blocks and 11 rebounds from sophomore Kat Andriani (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata). Senior Rachael Scheller (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) posted four points, four rebounds and four assists, becoming the fifth player in school history to reach 250 career assists.

Lebanon Valley (12-2 overall, 6-1 Commonwealth) was led by 17 points and 19 rebounds from Caitlin Back and 13 points and three steals from Tierney Hiltz. Both Renee Fritz and Kiely Chaklos added 12 points.

The Flying Dutchmen shot 43 percent in the first half en route to a 42-11 halftime lead, led by Bach’s 15 points and 12 rebounds in the half.

In the second half, the Warriors whittled the Dutchmen lead down to 15 points with 8:04 left in the half thanks to an opening 25-9 run that was capped by an old-fashioned 3-point play by senior Leeann Randall (Audobon, Pa./Methacton) and a jumper by freshman Olivia Manges (York, Pa./West York). That was as close as the Warriors could get, though, as the Dutchmen closed the game on a 17-8 run.

Manges finished with seven points and three rebounds and Randall posted six points and a steal.

The Warriors get back into action on Saturday, Jan. 12 when they head to Commonwealth Conference foe Stevenson for a 2 p.m. game.
