Warriors tough stretch continues as they host No. 18 Lebanon Valley

After games at 2012 NCAA Sweet 16 team King’s and 10-3 Widener, the road will get no easier for the Lycoming College women’s basketball team tonight as it hosts No. 18 Lebanon Valley in a Commonwealth Conference tilt at Lamade Gym.

The Warriors (2-10 overall, 2-4 Commonwealth) are coming off a 76-42 loss to Widener on Saturday, Jan. 5. The Warriors were led by its solid rookie class in the game, with Olivia Manges scoring a career-high 11 points, Taylor Ford adding eight, Chelsea Henderson a career-high seven and Shanley Harlacker six.

The Flying Dutchmen (11-2 overall, 5-1 Commonwealth) posted a 67-34 win over Stevenson on Jan. 5. Sophomore Kiely Chaklos and freshman Taylor Umbrell each posted 11 points to lead the team.

• Freshmen accounted for 32 of the Warriors’ 42 points at Widener.

• In her last six games, freshman Olivia Manges is averaging 9.0 points and 2.7 rebounds.

• Senior Rachael Scheller needs four more assists to become the fifth player in school history to reach 250 in a career.

• With 186 career steals, Scheller needs five more thefts to pass Jessica Zerbee (2006-10) for third in the school’s history.

• Sophomore Ali Derr needs 12 more points to reach 200 in her career.

• Freshman Shannon Wheeler needs six points to reach 100 in her career.

• Junior Julia Antonelli is third in the Commonwealth Conference with four double-doubles this season.

• Eleven Warriors have started games this season and no one has started all 12 games.

• The Warriors have held opponents to less than 40 percent from the field in eight of the last 10 games.
