WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After two games that came out in the Lycoming College men’s basketball team’s favor by a grand margin of six points in 2011-12, the Warriors will head back to Widener looking to continue its good fortune against the Pride in its first game of 2013 on Saturday, Jan. 5.
The Warriors (11-1 overall, 5-0 Commonwealth) hold a one-game lead in the league standings heading into its 13-match 2013 conference schedule. The team is looking for its 11th straight win, which has helped propel it to 20 votes in the most recent D3hoops.com poll, the most for the team since they received 47 votes in the Dec. 19, 2004 poll.
The Pride (3-9 overall, 2-3 Commonwealth) are coming off a 91-78 win at Swarthmore on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Warrior Notes
• Senior
Ihsaan Davis needs four points to become the 29th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points.
• Senior
Jerald Williams needs one more assist to become the 14th player in NCAA Division II history to reach 700 in a career.
• Williams needs three more steals to move past Henry Shannon (Maryville (Mo.), 1996-99) for 21st place in NCAA Division III history in career steals. Shannon racked up 292.
• Williams is one assist and 11 steals from becoming the third player in NCAA Division III history to reach 700 career assists and 300 career steals.
• Junior
Michael Rudy tied the school’s single-game record of six blocked shots against John Jay. He is the fifth Warrior to reach the mark and joins former teammate Mike Bradley ’12 in the club.
• The Warriors’ 10-game winning streak is tied for the third-longest in school history. It is two from the record of 12 games set during the 2011-12 season.
