WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With a magic number of six to reach the Commonwealth Conference playoffs for the third time in the past four years, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team will try to shake off a pair of overtime losses today at Lamade Gym when rival Widener comes to visit.

The Warriors (12-6 overall, 6-5 Commonwealth) have been led by senior Anthony Martin during conference play, as the 6-3 guard is averaging a league-best 22.0 points in league play. In the past three games, he has been a solid source of offense for the team, posting 28, 28 and 25 points.

The Pride (5-13 overall, 4-7 Commonwealth) are coming off an impressive 69-50 win over Lebanon Valley on Jan. 23, to move within two games of the Warriors in the conference standings with seven games remaining.

Warrior Notes
• With a win, the Warriors can guarantee their fourth straight season above .500.

• With 307 career steals, senior Jerald Williams is tied for 14th in NCAA Division III history and is 19 steals shy of the top 10.

• Williams needs one more assist to become the first player in school history to post back-to-back 200-assist seasons.

• Junior Kevin Anthony became the 48th player in school history to reach 800 career points with his second of six points at Alvernia.

• Junior Michael Rudy needs three blocked shots to tie Kevin Rutherford (1998-99) and Matt Stackhouse (2003-04) for seventh in the school’s single season record book with 37 rejections.

• The Warriors have played back-to-back overtime games for the first time since 1980, when they lost to Juniata, 46-44, followed by a 65-63 win over Philadelphia Textile.

• The Warriors have scored more than 70 points in all 18 games this year, three shy of the longest single-season stretch in school history of 21 set in 1967-68.
