WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - For the Lycoming College women’s basketball team, the opponents will not get any easier in the first 10 days of the New Year, as it begins a treacherous three-game stretch by facing 2012 NCAA Sweet 16 team King’s (Pa.) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3.

The Warriors (2-8 overall) will follow the game against the Monarchs (5-4 overall) by heading to Widener on Jan. 5, which has won 79 games in the last four and a half years, followed by hosting No. 13 Lebanon Valley on Jan. 9.

A win against the Monarchs, who finished 24-6 in 2011-12 en route to the Sweet 16,  would go a long way to boost the Warriors’ confidence, as the Warriors have dropped three straight games after holding second-half leads in each, including against eighth-ranked Messiah on Dec. 14.

Warrior Notes

• Senior Rachael Scheller needs seven more assists to become the fifth player in school history to reach 250 in a career.

• Freshman Shannon Wheeler needs 14 points to reach 100 in her career.

• Sophomore Janelle Ziminski needs one more steal to reach 50 in her career.
