WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Lycoming College men’s basketball team will wrap up its two-game Commonwealth Conference homestand on Saturday by hosting Arcadia in a 3 p.m. tip-off, looking to move a little closer to the team’s second playoff berth in the last three years.
The Warriors (16-4 overall, 6-3 Commonwealth) are coming off a 92-77 loss to Albright, but the team has won all four of its Saturday conference matchups this season, including a 10-point win over the Knights on Jan. 14, in which junior guard Ihsaan Davis notched 20 points.
The Knights (9-11 overall, 2-7 Commonwealth) fell to Alvernia by 10 points on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Junior guard Khalief Trawick leads the team with a 10.9 points per game average, which is 18th in the league.
Warrior Notes
• The Warriors’ magic number to clinch a Commonwealth Conference Championship slot is four. Any combination of Warrior wins and losses by Elizabethtown will ensure the team a playoff slot. Due to a tie at third in the conference, Lycoming’s magic number to earn a home playoff game is five.
• Junior Jerald Williams broke his own single-season school record with his fourth assist against Albright, the 183rd helper of the year.
• Williams leads the NCAA Division III with 9.2 assists per game and he is fourth with 3.4 steals per game.
• The Warriors have blocked a school-record 126 shots this season.
• Freshman Patrick Dougher became the sixth freshman in school history to hit 40 3-pointers with his first of two against Albright.
• The Warriors have received votes in the D3hoops.com poll three times this year.
