Lycoming hosts Alvernia looking to clinch Commonwealth playoff slot

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - 
The stakes couldn’t be higher for the  Lycoming College and Alvernia University men’s basketball teams when they meet on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 3 p.m. at Lamade Gym. With a win, the Warriors (18-6 overall, 8-5 Commonwealth) are guaranteed the No. 3 seed in the conference semifinals on Wednesday, Feb. 22. There are 10 playoff scenarios if Alvernia (16-8 overall, 7-6 Commonwealth) wins, with the Crusaders earning a playoff slot in seven scenarios and the Warriors earning a slot in seven as well.

Game Notes
• The Warriors are ranked ninth in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional poll released on Feb. 15.

• Junior Jerald Williams’ 79 steals this season are second in school history. He needs five to break his own school record of 84 set a freshman.

• Senior Mike Bradley needs seven points to become the 38th player in school history to reach 900 in a career.

• The Warriors are ranked second in Division III with 6.2 blocked shots per game.

• The Warriors are 14-2 when they score 20 or more points off turnovers.
