Kauffman, the head women’s basketball coach at Elizabethtown for 42 years, coached her final regular-season home game at Thompson Gymnasium, winning her 690
th game in the process. After the game, the basketball court at the gym was named in Kauffman’s honor: Yvonne Kauffman Court at Thompson Gymnasium.
Elizabethtown (16-7 overall, 9-4 Commonwealth) scored the first five points of the second half to take a 26-19 lead, but Lycoming (10-13 overall, 5-8 Commonwealth) fought back within four after a 3-pointer from freshman
Kylee Sutton (Wysox, Pa./Towanda Area) made it 28-24 with 13:46 left. The Blue Jays then went on a 13-4 run to take a 41-28 lead with 7:49 left, but Lycoming fought back within six with 4:40 left as sophomore
Julia Antonelli (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) hit a layup to make it 45-39, but that was as close as the Blue Jays would allow them.

Rachael Scheller (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) started a 9-2 run over the next 5:30 to close within two points at 15-13. From there, the Blue Jays couldn’t take more than a five-point lead and Lycoming closed the half with three straight free throws to close within a bucket at the half, 21-19.

Janelle Ziminski (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area) added three points, seven rebounds and three assists, as the Warriors outrebounded the Blue Jays, 41-39.
Stephanie Ellwood led the Blue Jays with 12 points, 11 rebounds and six steals and Taylor Krieder added 10 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Jayci Scannapieco also added 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Warriors wrap up the regular season with another critical Commonwealth Conference game on Saturday, Feb. 18, when they host Alvernia at 3 p.m. Before the game, seniors Connaghan and Shearer will be honored in a short ceremony.
