Warriors look to build momentum against Arcadia on Saturday

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -
After picking up the team’s first win at Elizabethtown, the Lycoming College women’s basketball team will get back in action today looking to even its Commonwealth Conference record in a clash with Arcadia University.

The Warriors (1-5 overall, 1-2 Commonwealth) had their best offensive performance of the season against Elizabethtown, with both junior Julia Antonelli and freshman Shannon Wheeler finishing with 19 points. The Warriors also came from behind to earn the 70-62 win, scoring the game’s final 16 points in the last five minutes.

The Knights (4-3 overall, 0-3 Commonwealth) are coming off a 66-55 loss to nationally-ranked Lebanon Valley.  Five freshmen started the game against the Flying Dutchmen.

Warrior Notes
• After posting 19 points and 12 rebounds against Elizabethtown, junior Julia Antonelli has 11 double-doubles in her career.

• Antonelli needs 17 points to become the 26th player in school history to reach 600 career points.

• Antonelli is second in the league with 10.3 rebounds per game and sophomore Kat Andriani is tied for seventh at 7.5.

• Senior Rachael Scheller needs nine more assists and six more steals to move into the top five in school history in those career categories.

• Scheller leads the Commonwealth Conference with 3.5 steals per game. She had at least two steals in each of the first six games.

• Freshman Shannon Wheeler leads the Warriors with three double-figure scoring performances.

• Freshman Olivia Manges scored a career-high nine points against Elizabethtown.
