Warriors set for first conference road tussle at Elizabethtown

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -
With two home Commonwealth Conference wins behind it, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team will hit the road looking for its fifth straight win when it faces Elizabethtown on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

The Warriors (5-1 overall, 2-0 Commonwealth) are coming off a 78-76 win over Hood on Saturday, Dec. 1. Senior Anthony Martin secured the win with a layup with 10 seconds left in the game, helping him finish with 11 points. Junior Kevin Anthony led the team with 16 points and nine rebounds.

The Blue Jays (1-5 overall, 0-2 Commonwealth) are coming off a 71-61 loss to defending conference champions, Messiah. Sophomore Phil Wenger led the team with 11 points and six rebounds.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors received one vote in the latest D3Hoops.com poll, the third time in the last four years the team has earned a vote in the poll.

• At least four Warriors have scored in double figures in each of the last four games.

• Senior Jerald Williams enters the game with 631 assists, which is 37 away from the MAC record of 668 set by Lebanon Valley’s Mike Rhoads from 1992-95.

• Williams has recorded a school record with five games of recording 10 or more assists.

• Junior Kevin Anthony needs 16 points to become the 56th player in school history to reach 700 career points.

• Anthony leads the Commonwealth Conference with 1.3 blocks per game and Williams tops the league in assists (11.8) and steals (3.5).

• Sophomores Chris Foreman and Patrick Dougher are both tied for fourth in the Commonwealth Conference at 2.5 3-point field goals made per game.
