Warriors and Wilkes set for another instant classic on Sunday afternoon

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -
After the last two games in the 120-meeting long series between the Lycoming College men’s basketball team and Wilkes University have been decided by a grand total of three points,  with Lycoming coming out on the winning end both times, the Warriors will head to Wilkes looking for their third straight win in the series on Sunday, Nov. 25.

The Warriors (2-1 overall) are coming off an 80-69 win over Susquehanna on Tuesday, Nov. 20, as the team was led by a pair of double-doubles. Junior Kevin Anthony posted 18 points and 12 rebounds and senior Jerald Williams notched 10 points and 11 assists.

The Colonels (2-0 overall) beat Baptist Bible, 101-85, on Nov. 20, led by 26 points and 11 assists from junior Chris Shovlin.

Warrior Notes
• Senior Jerald Williams passed 250 career steals with his third of six against Susquehanna. He is 34 steals away from the top 25 in NCAA Division III history.

• Williams enters the game with 589 assists, which is 79 helpers away from the MAC record of 668 set by Lebanon Valley’s Mike Rhoads from 1992-95.

• After posting back-to-back double-digit assist efforts for the school-record third time in his career, Williams has another school-record 17 double-figure efforts.

• Sophomore Patrick Dougher has hit multiple 3-pointers in each of the first three games this year and 14 times in his career.

• The Warriors have scored 80 or more points in each of the first three games, the fifth time during the Coach Rancourt-era that the Warriors scored 80 or more in three straight.

• Five players have scored in double figures in each of the last two games for Lycoming.
