Warriors roll past Division II Mounties, 109-81

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomores BethAnn Schwoyer (Williamsport, Pa./Homeschooled) and Lexi Follweiler (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) and freshman Jilly Flynn (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) kicked off the night by leading the Lycoming College women’s swimming team to a win in the 200-yard medley relay and followed that with two more wins to lead the Warriors to a 109-81 victory over Division II Mansfield University on Monday evening, Nov. 19.
 
The win was the Warriors (3-2 overall) fourth straight over the Mounties (0-9 overall), dating back to 2001.
 
Schwoyer, Flynn and Follweiler teamed with senior Elisa Becker (Reston, Va./South Lakes) to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:58.66, winning by more than two seconds.
 
Swimming in some different events, Schwoyer took a win in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.76 and followed with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.42. Flynn posted a season-best time of 2:22.41 in the 200-yard individual medley and added a time of 1:13.02 to take the 100-yard breaststroke. Follweiler notched a win in the 100-yard butterfly in a season-best 1:04.13 and added a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
 
Sophomore Danielle Loiseau (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) also stretched her repertoire, winning the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.08, the fastest time of the season for the Warriors, and a time of 58.10 in the 100-yard event.
 
Junior Jennie Marosits (Mt. Lakes, N.J./Mt. Lakes) also added a season-best time of 11:49.95 to win the 1,000-yard freestyle.
 
Follweiler wrapped up the evening by teaming up with freshman Felicia Sloyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen), sophomore Brigid Clark (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield) and Becker to post a time of 1:50.12to win the 200-yard freestyle relay.
 
The Warriors get back into action on Friday, Nov. 30 when they start the two-day Swarthmore Invitational at 6:30 p.m.
