Warriors look for fourth straight win over rival Cougars

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -
After facing a pair of tough teams at the Terry Greene Memorial Tournament, the Lycoming College women’s basketball team will have just as tough a task on Tuesday, Nov. 20, when it faces defending Freedom Conference champions Misericordia in the team’s home opener at Lamade Gym.

The Warriors (0-2 overall) have been led early in the season by a quartet of freshmen, with Shannon Wheeler, Shanley Harlacker, Olivia Manges and Taylor Ford have combined for 48 of the team’s 112 points in the first two games.

The Cougars (2-0 overall) are coming off a 2-0 performance at the St. Mary’s (Md.) Seahawk Classic, beating CCNY, 87-43, and Rosemont, 67-56.

Warrior Notes
• In three career games against Misericordia, senior Rachael Scheller is averaging 17.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

• Scheller needs eight assists to pass Jen Holt, who posted 218 career helpers from 1995-98, for sixth in school history.

• Scheller needs 11 points to become the 25th player in school history to reach 600 career points.

• Sophomore Kat Andriani needs two rebounds to reach 100 in her career.

• The Warriors lead the Commonwealth Conference with 36 3-pointers attempted and are second in the league with 11 made.

• Scheller (2.5, T-4th) and freshmen Shanley Harlacker (1.5, T-7th) and Shannon Wheeler (1.0, T-10th) are all in the top 10 in the conference in 3-pointers made.

• The Warriors are averaging 30.0 points per game off the bench.
