WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Fourteen Lycoming College men’s basketball players figured into the scoring column as it shot 51.7 percent from the floor en route to an 88-45 win over Penn State Wilkes-Barre in the opening round of the 15
th annual Tip-Off Tournament at Lamade Gym on Friday night, Nov. 16.
The Warriors (1-0 overall) advance to their fifth straight Tip-Off Tournament Championship where they will face Salisbury (2-0 overall), who beat Old Westbury, 76-63, in the other first round matchup. Tip is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17.

Kevin Anthony (Columbus, Ohio/Bridgton Academy) led the Warriors with 19 points and five rebounds off the bench and senior
Ihsaan Davis (Jamaica, N.Y./Christ the King) added 10 points and six rebounds.

Justin Miller (Agawam, Mass./Bridgton Academy) tied a career-high with nine points and added four rebounds and both senior
Anthony Martin (Detroit, Mich./Christ the King) and sophomore

Jerald Williams (Riverdale, Md./Bladensburg) started his final campaign with four points, nine assists and three steals.
After falling behind 5-0 in the game’s opening 1:13, the Warriors responded with 13 straight points, as Miller converted a baby hook to cap the run. The closest the Mountain Lions got after that was five points, when Travis Dunlap hit a 3-pointer to make it 15-10 with 13:02 left in the first half, but Lycoming went on a 37-12 run that nearly closed out the half, as Davis hit a 3-pointer with 51 seconds left in the first half to make it 52-22. A late layup by the Mountain Lions helped round out the first half scoring.
Lycoming increased its 28-point lead throughout the second half, getting the lead to as many as 44, three times, including with 56 seconds left before a late Wilkes-Barre free throw made up the final 43-point margin.
The Warriors dominated in the paint, scoring 42 points and also scoring 35 points off 24 Wilkes-Barre turnovers. The Warriors also notched 20 fastbreak points.
Off the bench, sophomore
Kevin Laurence El (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) posted six points and freshmen
William Wingate (Philadelphia, Pa./Mastery Charter) and
Adam Francis (Bronx, N.Y./Our Saviour Lutheran) each added five. All 17 Warriors played at least four minutes in the game.
The Mountain Lions were led by 14 points, three steals and nine rebounds from Denzel Mensah and nine points, on three 3-pointers from Drew Walker. Keith Johnson posted four assists.
In the consolation game, Penn State Wilkes-Barre will face Old Westbury at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Lamade Gym.
