WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - One of two teams left in the Middle Atlantic Conference with a perfect league record, the Lycoming College football team will hit the road on Saturday, Oct. 1, looking for its fifth straight win and spoil FDU-Florham’s homecoming.
The Warriors (4-1 overall, 4-0 MAC) posted a 33-10 win over King’s on Saturday, Sept. 29. The team jumped out to a 20-0 lead and started the game with a 78-yard touchdown pass from sophomore

The Devils (1-3 overall, 1-2 MAC) fell to Wilkes, 37-27, on Saturday, Sept. 29. The Devils took a 27-17 lead in the game with 7:17 left in the third quarter, but the Colonels rallied with 20 straight points to win the game.
Warrior Notes

Offense: Multiple/Pro-Style
With a quarterback that has slowly seen his pass efficiency rating rise every week in sophomore
Tyler Jenny, the Warrior offense is turning into a balanced unit.
Against Lycoming, Jenny finished 12-of-19 for 173 yards and two touchdowns, as he posted a career-high 163.85 pass efficiency rating against King’s. Senior
Jarrin Campman caught two passes in the game for 86 yards, including a 78-yard touchdown reception, the second-longest reception in the league this year.
The running game has posted 150 or more yards and averaged two touchdowns in the past four games. The team was balanced once again against King’s as senior
Parker Showers ran for 83 yards and a score and sophomore
Craig Needhammer added 66 yards and two touchdowns.
Defense: 4-3
After giving up 24 points in the season opener, the Warriors have allowed just 12.8 points against its first four MAC opponents. The Warriors have one of the toughest front lines in the league, averaging a league best 97.6 yards allowed rushing per game. The team also leads the conference in sacks with 18 through the first five games.
The team is led by senior defensive end
Nate Oropollo, who leads the league with 10 tackles for a loss and six sacks. Junior defensive tackle
Dwight Hentz has added 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks, which is second in the MAC, and sophomore defensive end
Braden Zeiner has posted 4.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks.
In the secondary, sophomore
Tanner Troutman has led the way, posting three interceptions, five breakups and 30 tackles. Sophomore
Kody Flail has added six breakups, which is second in the league.
Scouting FDU-Florham
Offense: Multiple
With one of the top passing offenses in the MAC, FDU-Florham is ranked fifth in the league in total offense at 376.3 yards per game. The Devils are also second in passing offense at 258.8 yards per game.
FDU-Florham quarterback Mike Santos is third in the conference in passing efficiency rating at 139.81 and third in total offense at 263.0 yards per game.
Anthony Fruncillo is the Devils’ top receiver at 5.0 catches per game and 87.00 yards per game.
Running back Jon Bennett is one of the most versatile backs in the MAC, ranking 11th in rushing yards per game (50.7) and in receptions per game (4.0). Bennett is also 10th in receiving yards per game (46.7)
Defense: Multiple
The Devils have the top tackler in the conference, as junior linebacker Mike Mancino currently leads the league with 13.0 tackles per game. Kevin Daly is tied for ninth in the league with two sacks and 18th in tackles for loss with three.
Charles Thomas and Joe Mancini are also both in the top 10 in the league in tackles, with Thomas fourth at 8.50 per game and Mancini ninth at 7.33.
In their last outing, Wilkes racked up a single-game record 667 yards in a 37-27 win over the Devils. Wilkes posted 435 yards on the ground during the win. Mike Mancino recorded 17 tackles while sophomore defensive back Troy Scales tallied 13 stops.
Camping out in the endzone
Senior
Jarrin Campman has had a breakthrough year for the Warriors at wide receiver. The Clearfield Area graduate is seventh in the MAC in receptions per game (4.50) and his 44.5 yards per game is 13th. He has also scored six touchdowns, at least one in the last four games, helping him move into sixth in the league in scoring. He is also the first Lycoming wideout to score in four straight games since Tony Copp scored one in four straight games from Sept. 9-30, 2006.
Jen-erating Numbers
Sophomore
Tyler Jenny is the first Lycoming quarterback in school history to complete more than 60 percent of his passes in four straight starts, all of which were Warrior wins. Jenny started the stretch by going 12-of-20 with two touchdowns against No. 14 Delaware Valley in a 24-14 win. He went 15-of-23 for 168 yards against Lebanon Valley and despite throwing for just 75 yards against Albright, he completed 11-of-17 passes. Against King’s he tossed two touchdowns and went 12-for-19. Interestingly, Jenny has not thrown for 200 yards in a game during the streak, but he has completed 50-of-79 (63.3 percent) passes for 550 yards and seven scores, while being intercepted and sacked three times each.
Hentz hurries quarterbacks
Junior defensive tackle
Dwight Hentz earned his first career Middle Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week award after he helped keep the Warriors undefeated in the MAC with a 33-10 win over King’s by making a game-high 10 tackles and adding 2.0 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss. The 2.0 sacks were contributed half a sack at a time, as he factored into four of the team’s six sacks in the game. The 6-0, 250-pound defensive tackle moved into second in the MAC with 4.5 sacks on the season and he surpassed a pair of milestones in the game, becoming the fifth active Warrior to reach 100 career tackles with his ninth of 10 and then he reached 10 career sacks with his third half-sack of four on the day. His 4.5 sacks this season are a career-high, surpassing the four he had as a sophomore in 2011.
Showers rolls up the charts
Senior
Parker Showers, already the school’s career record holder for kickoff return yardage, continues to move up the record book in several career categories. He needs two yards to become the 12th running back in school history to reach 1,500 in a career and needs 85 more yards to become the eighth player at Lycoming to reach 3,000 career all-purpose yards. Showers has rolled up more than 100 all-purpose yards in four of the first five games this year.
