WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After the first season sweep of Lebanon Valley in school history, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team will look for its fourth season sweep of Albright and first since 2008 on Wednesday, Feb. 1, when the two meet at Lamade Gym.
The Warriors (16-3 overall, 6-2 Commonwealth) are coming off a five-point win at Lebanon Valley, as five players scored in double figures, led by a 18-point, seven-rebound game from senior Mike Bradley and 14 points and six rebounds from junior Ihsaan Davis. The Warriors hit nine 3-pointers in the game, the most since hitting 11 against Mount Union on Jan. 3, a span of seven games.
The Lions (11-8 overall, 2-6 Commonwealth) are coming off a 66-52 loss to league-leading Messiah.
Warrior Notes
• The Warriors’ magic number to clinch a Commonwealth Conference Championship slot is five. Any combination of Warrior wins and losses by the fifth-place team will ensure the team a playoff slot. Due to a three-way tie at third in the conference, Lycoming’s magic number to earn a home playoff game is also five.
• Junior Jerald Williams needs four assists to break his own single-season school record of 182 assists set as a sophomore.
• Williams is the first player in school history to lead the team in assists three years in a row.
• The Warriors have blocked a school-record 120 shots this season, led by sophomore Kevin Anthony’s 36 rejections, which is eighth in school history.
• Freshman Patrick Dougher needs one more 3-pointer to become the sixth freshman in school history to hit 40.
• With a win, the Warriors can improve to 17-3 for the first time since 1995-96, when the team won a school-record 21 games.
