WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Coming off a thrilling 66-62 come-from-behind win at Widener, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team will look to finish the first half of the Commonwealth Conference season with at least a share of first place when Elizabethtown comes to Lamade Gymnasium for the 101st meeting in the series between the two schools on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
Junior Ihsaan Davis led the Warriors (15-2 overall, 5-1 Commonwealth) to the win over the Pride, scoring nine points in a row to tie the game late in the second half. In the process, Lycoming reached 15 wins for the 12th time in the last 17 years.
Elizabethtown (6-10 overall, 2-4 Commonwealth) is coming off an 80-52 loss to Alvernia. Lee Eckert led the team with nine points.
Warrior Notes
• Lycoming received four votes in the latest D3hoops.com poll, the second time this year the team was mentioned.
• The Warriors are looking to improve to 16-2 for the second time in three years, as the 2009-10 squad reached the mark before going on to tie the school record of 21 wins.
• The Warriors lead the nation in assists per game (20.8) and assist-turnover ratio (1.53).
• Junior Jerald Williams’ 167 assists this season are second in school history. He is 15 helpers from his own school record of 182 set in 2010-11. He is on pace to break the record in 19 games, six fewer than it took him to set it.
• Williams’ 57 steals this season are sixth in school history, just five from the top five in school history and 27 from his school record of 84 set in 2009-10.
• Senior Mike Bradley needs seven points to become the 47th player in school history to reach 800 in a career.
