CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.
- Led by 13 kills and nine digs from freshman Amber Seibel (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette), the Lycoming College volleyball team stopped a five-match skid with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-10) win over Wilkes in the opening match of a tri-meet at Baptist Bible College on Saturday, Sept. 17. In the nightcap, the Warriors were led by 15 kills and two blocks from sophomore Shelby Gear (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili), but the team fell in a five-set heartbreaker to the host Defenders, 21-25, 26-24, 25-16, 21-25, 15-13.

The Warriors (4-6 overall) hit a season-high .286 (35-11-84) in the win over the Colonels (1-7 overall), as Seibel led the squad with a solid .455 hitting percentage. Junior Jackie Oliva (Barnesville, Pa./Mahoney Area) added seven kills, five blocks and four digs and Gear posted five kills and a block. Freshman Kristen Whitehead (Avon, Ohio/Avon) posted 15 digs and sophomore setter Katelyn McKillop (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) notched 25 assists and four digs.

Paige Trusty notched seven kills and Erin Nothstein added 15 digs to lead the Colonels.

Seibel notched six kills and 19 digs in the second match against the Defenders (6-8 overall) and Oliva posted eight kills and four blocks for the Warriors. McKillop posted three kills, four aces, 27 assists and 15 digs and Whitehead notched a team-high 22 digs. Sophomore Kassidy Sedore (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Spackenkill) notched 13 digs and sophomore Shaina Preiss (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) added 12 digs as the Warriors posted 97 in the match.

Jessica White led the Defenders with 16 kills, four blocks and 25 digs and Emily Gordon added nine digs and 24 digs. Katelin Broughton posted 51 assists and Hannah Griffith posted 13 kills.

The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Sept. 21, when they head to Arcadia for a 7 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
