READING, Pa. –
The Lycoming College softball team’s season came to an end Sunday morning, May 7, in an elimination game at the Commonwealth Conference Championship, as Arcadia pitcher Kelsey Roberts tossed a no-hitter to beat Lycoming, 4-1.

Down 3-0 in the fourth inning, the Warriors (14-16 overall) forged a rally when sophomore Amy Cline (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) led off with a walk. Sophomore Taylor Lesser (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) followed with a  hard-hit grounder that helped Cline reach third after an error and after a walk by sophomore Janelle Poorman (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) loaded the bases, another error scored Cline.

However, an infield pop-up, a strikeout and a lineout helped the Knights (23-11 overall) get out of the inning without any further damage done.

The Knights got the run back in the fifth as a single by Lindsey Henchinski, a double by Erin Wojcieszyn and a sac fly produced a run with one out, but a double play to cut down the Wojcieszyn at third on the sac fly to help the Warriors get out of the inning.

The Knights got a single run in the first inning on an infield single by Marissa Perez and added two runs on two hits and an error in the third inning, as Perez had an RBI single before scoring on an error to take a 3-0 lead.

Roberts walked six and the Knights’ defense posted two errors, but she did not allow a hit. She struck out two and allowed an unearned run in the win.

Sophomore Holly Lansberry (Curwensville, Pa./Curwensville Area) (10-8) tossed a complete game for the Warriors, allowing 11 hits and three earned runs. She struck out one.

Perez led the Knights by going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run and Wojcieszyn and Henchinski each added two hits.
