WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After a tough King’s team snapped the Lycoming College women’s basketball team’s four-game winning streak, the Warriors will head to Susquehanna looking to get back in the win column on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 1 p.m.
The Warriors (4-3 overall) will also be out for revenge on the Crusaders, as Lycoming fell to Susquehanna, 66-65 in overtime in 2010 on a last second layup. Junior Rachael Scheller led the Warriors in the game with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Lycoming will look for a stalwart defensive performance against the Crusaders, as it has allowed just 53.9 points per game this season, including allowing just 45.8 points per game during its four-game win streak. Susquehanna is averaging 64.0 points per game, but has allowed 70.3 points per game.
Game Notes
• Junior Rachael Scheller and sophomore Julia Antonelli became the first Lycoming pair to earn back-to-back Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week awards since joining the league in 2007-08.
• Antonelli reached 200 career rebounds with her board against King’s.
• Antonelli leads the Commonwealth Conference in free throw percentage at .920 and she has hit 16 free throws in a row.
• Scheller needs six assists to become the 15th player in school history to reach 150 in a career.
• Freshmen Kylee Sutton (8) and Kat Andriani (5) combined for 13 rebounds against King’s, as both set new career highs.
• Senior Erin Connaghan has two steals in each of the last two games.
• The Warriors are averaging 22.0 points per game in the paint while allowing just 15.4.
