Warriors head to Las Vegas Hoopla for a pair of games

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After a successful fall semester that has seen the Lycoming College women’s basketball team start the year with a 5-3 record, the team will leave the frigid Northeast for the desert, as it starts a two-game tournament at the Las Vegas Hoopla on Tuesday, Dec. 20, by facing the University of Dubuque at the Centennial Hills Community Center.

The Warriors (5-3 overall) are coming off an impressive 69-57 win at rival Susquehanna on Dec. 10. The team was led by a career-high 23 points from junior Rachael Scheller, as the point guard hit four 3-pointers and added five rebounds and three steals in the win.

Dubuque (4-5 overall) is coming off a 63-55 loss against Augustana on Saturday, Dec. 17. The team was led by 23 points from junior Mollie Whiting in the game.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors are 3-1 all-time in the Pacific Time Zone and 2-0 in Las Vegas. The team posted a 63-21 win over Mills and a 96-87 win over Shenandoah during the 1999 adidas D-3 Desert Shootout.

• Freshman Ali Derr and sophomore Julia Antonelli each notched double-doubles against Susquehanna, with Derr posting the first in her career with 16 points and 12 rebounds and Antonelli notching the third of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

• Junior Rachael Scheller needs four assists to become the 15th player in school history to reach 150 in a career.

• Senior Erin Connaghan has at least two steals in each of the last three games.

• Freshman Kat Andriani has set career highs in rebounds in each of her last two games, grabbing five against King’s and then posting seven against Susquehanna.
