WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Heading into Saturday, Dec. 17’s game with Mount Aloysius, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team hasn’t scored 100 points in a span of 43 games. The Mounties have done it three times this season, setting up an interesting game between similar high-flying offenses in the first meeting between the two schools.
The Warriors (8-0 overall), despite not reaching the century mark in almost two seasons, still lead the Commonwealth Conference with an average of 82.5 points per game, led by 16.9 points per game from sophomore Kevin Anthony and 14.6 points from junior Anthony Martin.
The Mounties (3-5 overall) are coming off an 111-93 loss to undefeated Catholic on Monday, Dec. 12. Mount Aloysius is led by junior Kory Gibson, who is averaging 19.3 points per game.
Warrior Notes
• The Warriors are looking to match the longest win streak in head coach
Guy Rancourt’s four years against Mount Aloysius, as the team won nine straight from Dec. 20, 2009-Jan. 26, 2010.
• Rancourt needs one more win to surpass his 55 wins accumulated at John Jay College from 1999-03.
• The Warriors have been behind in all eight of their games this year, including overcoming second-half deficits five times.
• Junior Jerald Williams need one assist to become the second player in school history to dish out 400 helpers in a career. Williams is second in the nation at 8.3 assists per game.
• Senior Mike Bradley needs three points to become the 55th player in school history to reach 700 in a career.
• The Warriors are one of 21 undefeated teams left in the NCAA Division III.
• The Warriors lead the Commonwealth Conference in scoring offense (82.5), blocked shots (5.5), assists (19.1), steals (13.3) and turnover margin (+10.88).
