Williams goes after steals record in battle of the unbeatens

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - As the only two undefeated teams left in the Commonwealth Conference meet in the league’s season opener on Wednesday, Nov. 30, junior Jerald Williams enters the game on the precipice of a school record. The 5-8 point guard will look to lead the Lycoming College men’s basketball team to remain unbeaten and beat Albright College for the first time in five meetings.
Williams is just three swipes from the school record of 181 career steals set by Geoff Boblick from 1994-98, as the point guard has played nearly flawlessly for the Warriors (4-0 overall), averaging 8.3 assists and 4.8 steals per game.
Albright (3-0 overall) is coming off an 87-60 win over King’s (Pa.) on Tuesday, Nov. 22. The Lions were led by sophomore Reuel Moore, who scored 20 points off the bench in the win.

Warrior Notes
• Lycoming has opened its last three seasons with identical 4-0 records. It is the first time in school history the program has posted such a feat.

• Lycoming is 1-3 in conference season openers since joining the Commonwealth Conference in 2007-08. The Warriors are 30-24 all-time in conference openers.

• Sophomore Kevin Anthony crossed 300 career points with his ninth of 13 points against Susquehanna.

• With three blocks against Susquehanna, Anthony moved into the top 10 in school history with 39 career rejections.

• Junior Anthony Martin has scored in double figures in each of the last three games off the bench.

• Senior Mike Bradley has led the Warriors in rebounds in each of the first four games.

• The Warrior bench is averaging 39.8 points per game through the first four contests.
