Marosits, Clark lead Warriors to 111-85 win over Mounties

MANSFIELD, Pa. –
Sophomore Jennie Marosits (Mt. Lakes, N.J./Mt. Lakes) and freshman Brigid Clark (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield) each posted two first-place finishes to lead the Lycoming College women’s swimming team, which won seven of the 11 races, to a 111-85 win over Mansfield University at the Decker Pool on Monday evening, Nov. 21.
 
The win was the Warriors’ second in as many years against the Division II Mounties (0-5 overall), as they improved to 2-3 overall.
 
Marosits trekked 1,500 yards to help her earn her two wins, as she posted an 11:55.95 to take the 1,000-yard freestyle and added a 5:41.58 to win the 500-yard freestyle. On the other side of the freestyle spectrum, Clark took the 50-yard freestyle in 26.48 and added a time of 57.30 to win the 100-yard freestyle.
 
Freshman BethAnn Schwoyer (Williamsport, Pa./Homeschooled), freshman Danielle Loiseau (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), freshman Lexi Follweiler (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) and junior Lindsay Hunsicker (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) started the day with a win in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:01.44.
 
Follweiler added a win in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:04.69 and Schwoyer posted a win in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.89 and finished second in the 200-yard freestyle.
 
Junior Caitlin DeAngelo (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) added a second-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle and Hunsicker took second in the 100-yard butterfly.
 
The Warriors get back in the water after the Thanksgiving break when the men and women both head to the Swarthmore Invitational starting on Friday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m.
