LEHMAN, Pa. - Sophomore
Michael Rudy (Danville, Pa./Danville) showed a brand-new dimension to his game, canning four 3-pointers to finish with a career-high 14 points, as the Lycoming College men’s basketball team posted a 97-63 win at Penn State-Wilkes-Barre in the season-opener on Tuesday night, Nov. 15.
Sophomore
Kevin Anthony (Columbus, Ohio/Bridgton Academy) and freshman
Nebby Exantus (Apopka, Fla./Bridgton Academy) each notched 11 points and 14 of the team’s 16 players factored into the scoring, as the Warriors shot an even 50 percent (35-of-70) from the field.
The Lycoming defense also did its job against the Mountain Lions (0-1 overall), posting 27 turnovers, leading to 30 points, while the team posted 12 fast break points.
Senior
Mike Bradley (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Joseph’s Prep) had nine points and five rebounds and junior
Ihsaan Davis (Jamaica, N.Y./Christ the King) added nine points and three rebounds. Freshman

Chris Foreman (Union, N.J./Union) each came away with eight points. Junior
Jerald Williams (Riverdale, Md./Bladensburg) added four steals and four assists and Martin also had four dimes and three thefts.
The Mountain Lions took an 11-6 lead five minutes into the first half before a pair of free throws from Anthony and a steal by Martin led to an easy layup, igniting the Warriors on a 7-0 run. The teams fought threw five ties and five lead changes, but a layup from Exantus with 9:27 left gave the Warriors the lead for good, as the team went on a 26-7 run to close out the half, as Dougher hit a jump as time expired in the half to make it a 49-28 score at halftime.
The Warriors extended the lead in the second half, as a 10-0 run midway through the half helped Lycoming take an 83-47 lead and the team got the lead to 39 points three times, with the last coming at 97-58 with 1:48 left before the Mountain Lions reeled off the last five points.
Denzel Mensah led Penn State-Wilkes-Barre, posting 19 points and nine rebounds, and Jacob Bronder added 11 points and four rebounds.
The Warriors get back on the court when they open up their home slate on Friday, Nov. 18, with the Tip-Off Classic. The Warriors will face Staten Island in the first game of the event at 6 p.m. before Hunter faces Adrian at 8 p.m.
