Warriors sweep MAC Crossovers with Manhattanville and King’s

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. –
Junior Jackie Oliva (Barnesville, Pa./Mahoney Area) posted 23 kills and sophomore Katelyn  McKillop (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) added two 30-assist matches to help lead the Lycoming College volleyball team to its fourth and fifth straight wins, as the Warriors swept its MAC Crossover matches at Scandlon Gym on Saturday, Oct. 1, downing Manhattanville, 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-17), before besting host King’s (Pa.), 3-1 (25-16, 25-16, 20-25, 25-16).
 
Against Manhattanville, the Warriors (9-6 overall) were led by the solid play of Oliva, who posted 14 kills and hit a solid .591, and McKillop, who notched her third straight double-double with 31 assists and 10 digs as the Warriors notched a 3-0 win and hit a solid .280 as a team.
 
The match also saw the return of sophomore Lacey Sollenberger (New Enterprize, Pa./North Bedford), as she posted five kills after starting the year injured. Freshman Kristen Whitehead (Avon, Ohio/Avon) added three aces and sophomore Shaina Preiss (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) notched two aces and three digs. Sophomore Kassidy Sedore (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Spackenkill) added six digs.
 
Damaris Moralis led the Valiants (8-7 overall) with four kills and two blocks and Makana Gomes notched eight assists and five digs.
 
Sophomore Shelby Gear (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) led the Warriors against King’s posting 16 kills and hitting .469 while freshman Amber Seibel (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette) added 22 digs, four aces and six kills in the 3-1 win.
 
McKillop notched 37 assists and seven digs and Whitehead notched 19 digs and two aces. Oliva added nine kills, two digs and three blocks and Sedore posted nine digs. Sophomore Kendra Bitner (Newville, Pa./Big Springs) added four aces.

Heather Bowman led the Monarchs (3-12 overall) added 13 killsand six digs and Kaleigh Brady added 14 assists. Lauren Rockhold notched a match-high four blocks and Jillian Foster added six digs.
 
The Warriors get back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 4, when they head to Lebanon Valley for a 7 p.m. match between two of the top four teams in the Commonwealth Conference.
