Kaitlin Horn (Ringtown, Pa./North Schuylkill) scored all four goals, including three in the second half, to guarantee the Lycoming College women’s soccer team its first River Derby win and first win against Susquehanna University since 1998, as the Warriors won the fourth edition of the trophy game, 4-0, on Tuesday night, Sept. 21.
Horn doubled her season goals total, going from four to eight, as the North Schuylkill grad moved into a tie for third in school history with 63 career points and a tie for second with 26 career goals thanks to her career high performance.

Kari Shaner (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) added two assists for the Warriors (5-1 overall) and freshman
Caitlin Dougherty (Douglasville, Pa./Daniel Boone) stopped seven shots to preserve the shutout, as the Crusaders (3-4) took 14 shots in the match.
Susquehanna fired off eight shots in the first half, but it was Lycoming that dented the scoreboard first, as Horn broke through the Susquehanna defense on a give from 30 yards by junior
Ashley Sitler (Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport). Horn then beat the goalie as the shot bounded into the left corner.
Six minutes into the second half, the Warriors struck again, as Shaner fired a free kick through the night sky from 40 yards out and Horn found it to head it on the right side of the goal, placing it in the left side.
Horn struck again in the 62nd minute, as she stole the ball from 40 yards out, took two dribbles and fired from the right side into the left corner. In the 65th minute, Shaner hooked up with Horn on a long free kick from the left side again, with Horn getting into the box behind the keeper and firing it in.
Rachel Norbuts made one save in the net for the Crusaders, as she faced seven Warrior shots.
The Warriors played aggressive throughout, posting 13 fouls to Susquehanna’s five and the Warriors warded off eight Susquehanna corner kicks.
Lycoming returns to the Shangraw Complex on Friday as it kicks off Family Weekend by hosting FDU-Florham at 4 p.m. in a non-conference game.
